With an intensive day of vaccination This Saturday, April 27, the department of Atlántico will culminate the Vaccination Week of the Americas, promoted by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

The objective is to guarantee that all children complete their immunization schedule, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and PAHO on the importance of early vaccination to prevent diseases.
In the last eight days, more than four thousand people have attended the vaccination points located in the 22 municipalities of the department, with the aim of everyone completing and updating their immunization schedule.

The departmental Secretary of Health, Luis Carlos Fajardo Jordanhighlighted that on April 20, the day the day began, 30% more biologicals were applied, compared to the first national day that was held in January.
In addition, vaccination of children under one year old increased by 70%; in one year it increased 64%. In total, the application of biologicals in children between one and five years of age increased by 101%.
