Don’t let them put the spider on you! Parking meter fines cost more than 200 pesos in SLP

For several years now, the use of parking metersto control the flow of parking in the capital’s neighborhoods, and here we leave you the costs so that you can prevent your car from being immobilized with a spider.

The municipal governments of San Luis Potosí have maintained the use of parking meters to control the time and payment of these spaces for each user who comes to occupy the green lines marked to indicate that the area has this service payment.

The payment for this service comes directly to the municipal coffers and the resources that accumulate monthly are intended to cover the needs of the Public Administration such as: payment to the H. Fire Department of the metropolitan area, maintenance of the Historic Center, operating expenses among others.

The parking meters are located in the Historic Center of San Luis Potosí which covers perimeter A, B and C, that is, from the Tequis neighborhood, Tlaxcala neighborhood, San Sebastián, Alameda Juan Sarabia, Reforma, Simón Bolívar and its surrounding streets, to the Colón garden and the San Miguelito neighborhood.

Users can pay from two pesos for 15 minutes, four for half an hour or eight pesos per hour. However, the fines for exceeding the payment or for not installing a parking meter are the following:

Fine for exceeding the payment time: $229 when paying at the cashier, if a spider is placed it will be removed when making the payment.

The fine for not paying a parking meter amounts to 271 pesos if you pay with coins and 277 pesos if you pay by card as a commission is charged, and if you pay at the parking meter offices the payment also increases to 283 pesos when paying in cash.

The parking meter inspectors remain vigilant from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to ensure that users properly pay the parking meter ticket, otherwise they place violations and even spiders to immobilize the vehicles.

In addition to the nearly 200 physical payment modules, which are located on the streets where the parking meter is charged, the residents of Potosí can pay for this service through the Municipal Government SLP digital applicationwhere you can make the payment using a credit or debit card depending on how many hours of parking you need.

If you do not pay on time, the inspectors can remove one of your plates and you must go to the municipal collection office located on Reforma Street, near the República market, to pay and recover your plate.
