They frustrated an important millionaire smuggling. The Entre Ríos Police seized several packages with packages of cigarettes in the route. The event occurred in the jurisdiction of the Concordia department and the products were in the possession of citizens of Uruguayan origin, as reported.

In the early hours of this Saturday, the personnel of the Fifth police station who were on preventive patrol at kilometer 5 of Route 015, saw a Hyndai brand vehicle on a dirt road and a couple on the side of the vehicle, who They were disassembling a cardboard box containing cigarettes of dubious origin.
In this way, when the uniformed officers verified the merchandise, they found a total of 693 packages of GIF brand cigarettes. In addition, about 800 meters from the place, there was also another vehicle – a Toyota Corolla – that had five complete closed boxes of cigarettes inside, packed in a black bag and tied with a sisal rope.
According to what was reported to Police Concord, the troops acted in accordance with the provisions of Art. 230 Bis of the Code of Procedure, under Law 23,894. Then, in communication with the secretary of the Federal Court and with directives from the Federal Judge, both vehicles were seized, as well as five boxes of cigarettes containing 50 cartons of 10 packs each and 693 packs of loose cigarettes, making a total of 3,193 packs of GIF brand cigarettes.
In communication with AFIP personnel, the merchandise would be valued at $3,500,000. Subsequently, by order of the Federal Judge, the transfer of the people involved was ordered, two women aged 20 and 23, and two men aged 21 and 27, all of Uruguayan nationality, for correct identification and release.
