At the Nuevo Amanecer Educational Institution, the Secretariat of Social Housing and Habitat and the District’s Special Housing Fund approaches the community to provide them with information about District Agreement 567 of 2023 and the subscription of the payment agreement.

  • The Secretariat of Social Housing and Habitat of the District of Santiago de Cali approached the inhabitants of commune 21, Potrerogrande neighborhood, to provide them with information about District Agreement 567 of 2023, for the 90% decrease in interest on credits and signing of payment agreements on the Special Housing Fund, FEV.
  • The ‘Pagando Ganas’ Campaign not only provided information about the agreement, but also had a festive and family atmosphere in which the boys and girls enjoyed recreational and cultural activities and the delivery of sweets, thanks to the participation of the Police National – Childhood and Adolescence Group and the staff of the Secretariat of Social Housing and Habitat and the Special Housing Fund.

The Secretariat of Social Housing and Habitat of the District of Santiago de Cali held a day of socialization and recreational activities in commune 21, Potrerogrande neighborhood, at the Nuevo Amanecer Educational Institution. Under the motto ‘Pagando Ganas’, the main objective of the initiative was to bring the inhabitants of the area closer to the ‘papayazo’ that in terms of interest to delinquent debtors of loans from the Special Housing Fund (FEV) and the Ministry of Housing Social and habitat are current today.

Along the way, Children’s Day was celebrated, with recreational activities for the minors attending this socialization.

The event included the participation of the community, who were able to receive legal, financial and psychosocial advice from the Secretariat staff, as well as detailed information about the status of their credits and the requirements to access District Agreement 567.

It should be noted that on May 31, 2023, the Cali Council approved said district agreement in order to benefit the debtors of the housing credit portfolio of the Ministry of Social Housing and Habitat. Currently, a 90% discount on default interest is in effect, which will be applied until August 30, 2024 and a reduction of 80% until December 27, 2024.

This ‘papayazo’ wants to provide defaulting debtors with a significant discount that allows them to catch up, understanding that some families have had financial difficulties. In this way, the debtor can be the owner of the home through the transfer of ownership of the properties, which due to the debt, are the real collateral that the District has.

Beyond the key information about housing, the day became a true celebration of Children’s Day. The little ones enjoyed games, recreational activities and the delivery of gifts and sweets, creating an atmosphere of joy and recreation in the community.

Aura María Betancur, Portfolio Manager of the Ministry of Social Housing and Habitat explained that “the success of this event motivates us to continue working for the well-being of Cali families. This day has been a great opportunity to get closer to the inhabitants of commune 21 and learn about their needs directly.”

Estefanía Burbano, second lieutenant of the National Police belonging to the Childhood and Adolescence Group, said that “we are very pleased to have participated in this event together with the Secretariat of Social Housing and Habitat. Our commitment is to work for the protection and well-being of children and adolescents. These types of events allow us to create spaces of joy and recreation for them.”
