With the presence of 800 police officers and 500 uniformed Army personnel deployed in Bucaramanga, Girón, Floridablanca, Piedecuesta and Lebrija, the security strategy of the Government of Santander in the area began. metropolitan area, which on its first day of activities managed to capture more than 30 people and seize a large amount of hallucinogens.
“Today, 16 operations focused on 15 points in the metropolitan area were launched simultaneously, one of them was in the El Campanazo sector, in Floridablanca.where the governor of Santander attended, accompanied by the mayor of Floridablanca, the commander of the Fifth Brigade, commander of Police Region 5, Metropolitan Police, Colombian Migration and Risk Management Office,” explained the governor of Santander, Juvenal Díaz.
In total there will be 15 strategic places in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga identified after several months of monitoring.which will have special surveillance by the Police, the Army and Colombian Immigration, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of citizens.
“The message to the entire community is that we are going to work comprehensively throughout the metropolitan area with all the Police forces, National Army, Prosecutor’s Office, Risk Management and all of us who have institutional capabilities. Under the leadership of the Secretary of the Interior of Santander, General (r) Óscar Hernández, we will coordinate the entire process in the Metropolitan area to have checkpoints, patrols and constant communication with the authorities to articulate and coordinate with our forces and reduce the capacity of bandits, ease of moving with weapons and narcotics and everything that generates crime in our territory,” said Governor Díaz Mateus.
Security operations will continue to be carried out soon in several strategic locations in Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Girón, Piedecuesta and Lebrija with the purpose of guaranteeing security to the citizens of the Metropolitan Area and for the benefit of the entire population of Santander, stated Governor Díaz Mateus.
