The streets of Valledupar are recreated with nostalgia and joy, to embark on a journey with the engines of the Willys Parranderos Jeeps.

This emblematic parade, woven with threads of tradition and melodies, is the starter of the 57 Vallenata Legend Festival.

The caravan left at 3:45 this afternoon, from the park The Vallenata Legend Consuelo Araujonoguera. It continued its journey through the La Pilonera roundabout, fourth race to 32nd Street, Los Algarrobillos Park, Simón Bolívar Avenue and will conclude at the starting point.

Each of these vehicles is a living witness to the history of Valledupar and its surroundings. They revive the travelers, the peasants, the loves, the legends that are intertwined between the verses of legendary revelers.

Nearly 100 vehicles participate in the colorful caravan, which has been gathering at this festival party for 15 years. Dozens of women, dressed in piloneras dresses, also add a festive touch to this event.

Many of them arrived from different latitudes of the country, in addition to Valledupar and surrounding towns. They are travelers who come with their load of memories, amassed between verses and accordion notes.

The honoree of this festival, Iván Villazón was not on this tour due to professional commitments acquired in Barranquilla.

“It is an integration not only with Vallenato folklore, we also strengthen family and fraternity ties, because many of them go on this journey. We are very well organized through an association, where we travel to other territories in the country, thanks to this festival meeting,” highlighted Julio Cesar Boneth, who has been participating in this tour for ten years with his family.

The coordinator of the caravan, Clemente Pachín Escalona, was pleased with the support of the drivers of the Willys Jeeps, witnesses of the idiosyncrasy of this territory, which, in addition, contribute to strengthening this tradition. A true festival on wheels.

“We are satisfied with the support of these people, who add their joy to each festival. Each one of them is also the soul of this rich folklore, they welcome the 57th Festival of the Vallenata Legend, and share with smiles and stories that adorn this great cultural festival,” Pachín Escalona stressed.
