During Saturday hours, the Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalveannounced a new curfew in Chile for some limited territories.
The same is explained as part of a series of measures adopted after the murder of three uniformed Carabineros de Chile in an attack carried out in the south of the country during the early hours of the morning.

Thus, the authority indicated that the idea is to make easier investigation to reveal those responsible and, in parallel, have better control of certain areas and the movements that may be suspicious.
Curfew in Chile: where it is and what hours the measure applies
According to what was indicated by the Government authority, the curfew in Chile applies to the communes of Cañete, Contulmo and Tirúaall three located in the Biobío region.
Regarding their schedules, the measure governs from 00:00 hours on Sunday until 07:00 of the same day.
On the other hand, and as explained by President Gabriel Boric through his X account, the determination came after a dialogue with the general director of Carabinerosthe commanders in chief of the Armed Forces, the head of National Defense and the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
“The police and military presence will be reinforced to our maximum capacity through joint patrols in the area,” the president said in the same post.
