Between May 2 and 3, in Coranzulí (located 70 kilometers northeast of Susques) the XII Tripartite Barter Fair, the XII Flame and Tincal Festival will be held; and the 50 years of creation of the Municipal Commission, currently chaired by Darío Puca, will be celebrated.

On Thursday at noon, the trans-Andean delegations from the town of Atacama (Chile), San Antonio de Esmoruco (Bolivia) and the Colanzulí Valley and Pueblo Viejo will be received; and in the afternoon they will hold a conversation revaluing the ideology of their ancestors in reference to barter without borders.

The next day, at 10, the protocol ceremony will be held and the exchange fair will be set up between Chilean, Bolivian, Coranzulí, Pueblo Viejo, Ucumazo and Cipaqui community producers, offering dried fruits, llama meat, quebradeñas fruits, plants natural products, Andean potatoes, seeds, flour, salt, leather, merchandise and other products from the areas.

The regional food contest made with llama meat was planned for noon, and the barter will end at 7 p.m.

An hour later, the Flame and Tincal Festival will begin where the soloist Italo Ramos, the Nueva Generación group, the ballet “El cardenal” (from Susques), copleros from the town and the valleys of Iruya (Salta) will perform.

During the social dance, the 15 clubs from the departments of Susques and Cochinoca, and from Salta will be received, which will participate on Saturday and Sunday in the “May 1st” soccer championship, in adherence to the celebration of Worker’s Day.

Among the participating sports institutions will be Club Cada, Real Sociedad and Lourdes (Susques), Club Los Andes, New Boys and Geo Andino (El Toro), Club Villa Estudiantes y Defensores de Jama (Jama), Club Moradores (Puesto Sey), Club Benfica (Olaroz Chico), Empresa Gemar (San Juan de Quillacas), Defensores del Valle, Club Quilmes (Catua), Club Girasoles de la Puna and Pomence (Coyahuayma), and Club Yaraví SAC (Salta).

On the 4th at 7:30 a.m. the football tournament will begin and at 7 p.m. the final of the first phase will take place; 5 from 8 the championship will continue with the quarterfinals, the semifinal and the final; while at 6:00 p.m. the winners will be awarded.

The football dispute has been taking place since 2001 at the initiative of former municipal commissioner Timoteo Puca and the now deceased Fermín Puca, over the years it gained relevance as participating teams from Puna and Salta.

With the men’s and women’s matches, the program that will begin on May 2 will conclude.
