The early morning of this Sunday, April 28, was overshadowed by a new hitman attack in the Nariño neighborhood. Neighbors of 20th Street and 0th Street witnessed the shooting that took the life of Brandon David Gómez Quiñonez, 28 years old.
What seemed like a family celebration turned into a tragedy in a matter of minutes. The victim was consuming alcoholic beverages with her two loved ones, when a man approached and after a heated argument, he pulled out his firearm and shot him repeatedly.
Two impacts to the head ended the life of Brandon Gómez. Without remorse, the hitman fled on foot.
His light blue jean pants and dark T-shirt were stained with blood. His family tried to help him, but everything was in vain.
Units from the Sijín and the Technical Investigation Corps arrived at this sector to proceed with the removal of the body and collect the data that would clarify this new bloody incident.
His relatives indicated that the young man was threatened in the days before his murder by two individuals known as aliases ‘Ferney’ and ‘Peluca’. Therefore, they have serious suspicions that they would be responsible for this hitman attack.
For now, the authorities are investigating the sector’s security cameras and collecting pertinent testimonies to clarify the case.
The authorities’ report also indicated that the victim had six judicial notes for the crimes of: prisoner escape, in 2023; threats, in 2012; three qualified robbery records and one homicide in 2015.
Brandon Gómez was deprived of his liberty, serving a 9-year sentence for the crime of homicide in the Bucaramanga model prison.
So far this year, there have been more than 46 homicides in Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area. According to Forensic Medicine, until March of this year, there were registered 36 homicides in Bucaramanga. The data shows that in January 11 people were murdered, in February 12 and in March 13.
