In compliance with search warrants, the Magdalena Police command captured four men identified as allegedly responsible for the crime of carrying, trafficking and manufacturing firearms.

The first occurred in the district of La Gran Vía in Zona Bananera, and allowed the capture of two men indicated by the authorities to be alleged members of the armed group ‘Autodefensas Conquistadores de la Sierra’.

These were reported as Brainer Elías and Wilmer Hurtado, who were taken amidst strict security measures to the Immediate Reaction Unit of the Prosecutor’s Office in the municipality of Ciénaga.

They found in their possession a nine-millimeter caliber pistol, for which they did not have the papers proving its legality for carrying or possession.

The second procedure took place in the district of Riofrío, the uniformed officers arrested a man who was found in possession of a 38-caliber revolver-type firearm with its respective ammunition, of which they could not explain its origin.

Similarly, in the town of Medialuna, a rural area of ​​the municipality of Pivijay, Dison Martínez, 35 years old, was captured carrying a shotgun without documents, which he claimed was used for hunting animals.
