Milei spoke of a “recovery” of retirements, said that inflation is falling “noticeably” and criticized Cristina Kirchner

President Javier Milie He spoke this Sunday about several current issues in an extensive radio interview. Among other issues, she assured that the situation of retirees will improve because a “recovery” of their assets will be applied, he described as “remarkable” the low inflationand criticized Cristina Kirchner considering that his speech at the event this Saturday in Quilmes “was of great intellectual poverty.”

Regarding retirements, he highlighted that the solution promoted by the government is the one that was applied via the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU). “I sent it so that the inflation adjustment can begin to run and they can begin to recompose” the amounts of the salaries, Milei specified in statements to the program Si Pasa, Pasa (Radio Rivadavia).

In that sense, the national president maintained that if he had not implemented this dynamic for increases with the DNU, retirees “would end up losing two points of GDP at the end of the year.” “Us we are returning 1.6 points of GDP. It’s not my fault that Congress is blocking things for me and has become an impeding machine,” he said.

Milei highlighted “the decline in inflation”

Regarding the pace of price increases recorded in recent months, the head of state pointed out that “it is increasingly notable how low” inflation is and, on that point, he highlighted that “Argentines see that a solution is being found to what they considered to be the country’s main problem.

“Wholesale prices in December grew 54 percent, amortized to 17 thousand and today wholesale inflation was 5 percent,” he detailed in praise of his task, specifying that “retail inflation, consumer inflation, started at 25 percent and is now at 11 percent.”

“It is expected, according to analyst consensus, that it will be below 10 points this month,” he confided, in relation to the April CPI data that will be published in a few weeks.

Milei called Cristina’s speech “very poor”

Asked about this Saturday’s event led by Cristina Kirchner in Quilmes, the president considered that, “In relation to other speeches” by the former vice president, “yesterday’s speech was of great intellectual poverty.”

“If they try to group together, they are like a bag of cats. It is a desperate act to keep alive a political movement that has done so much damage to the country. We need them to become more rational. They come out to talk now because they are nervous,” he added, and referred to to Cristina without naming her. “She generally had a clearer formal structure, but this one yesterday directly lacked an organic way of presenting a theme.”

Then, he insisted: “It is a desperate effort to try to unite and prevent them from entering a path that complicates them even more. We would need them to become more rational and not want to continue maintaining an economy from the planet of the apes.”

“What he said yesterday was notorious intellectual poverty. I was surprised by the intellectual decline. The only thing he did was criticize. “She continues to embrace a model that destroyed Argentina.”Milei remarked.

Furthermore, Milei expressed that for him “it would be wonderful to face Cristina” in the next presidential electionconsidered that “it would be hilarious” and would involve “putting an end to the darkest history of Argentina after the dictatorship.”

Defense of Pettovello and Lijo

In another part of the interview, The libertarian president also denounced that there are actors with “lobbying power” who try to operate against the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello, as a consequence of their investigations into episodes of corruption in different State entities. And also, defended the nomination of Judge Ariel Lijo to the Supreme Court.

Referring to Pettovello, he said: “It is a machine for discovering acts of corruption, denouncing them and taking them to court. When it is the business of some, the power groups respond and will operate it. It is carrying out the work of largest purification known in Argentina”.

Meanwhile, regarding the controversy in relation to the lists of the Government’s candidates for the highest court that the Senate must deal with, he said: “The appointments of García Mansilla and Lijo go with a strategy that will lead to a Court that has a format that is more in line with respecting the Constitution, which is what we are looking for. The expectation is that both will pass.”
