In an effort to improve the quality of early childhood care in the department of Magdalena, the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) has announced a new strategy that prioritizes the hiring of grassroots associations. This innovative approach seeks to strengthen care for children at an early age, ensuring that they receive the care and services necessary for comprehensive development.

According to statements by ICBF authorities, in Magdalena, grassroots associations are being prioritized in the hiring that is currently being carried out to serve early childhood, under the community modality, following the guidelines given by the entity at the national level. These organizations, close to the realities and needs of families, are well positioned to offer more personalized and effective care to early childhood.

Likewise, the Magdalena regional has provided technical assistance to these organizations to comply with the requirements so that they can be enabled within the contracting process, which is provided in accordance with current regulations.

The ICBF clarifies that at this time the operation of the services in the Community Welfare Homes of this department is being carried out normally and a contracting process is being carried out for its continuity, in which territorial strengthening and knowledge of the territory to care for boys and girls. Therefore, it is not true that there are improper directions since the contracts have not been born into legal life.

This initiative not only seeks to improve the quality of the services offered, but also to strengthen the social and community fabric in Magdalena. By involving grassroots associations in the provision of early childhood services, the active participation of the community in the care and protection of children is encouraged.

Additionally, this strategy is expected to contribute to generating economic and employment opportunities in local communities by providing support and training to grassroots associations involved in the provision of early childhood services.
