Entre Ríos Cup: Peñarol lost by the minimum against Malvinas

This Sunday the semifinals of the Entre Ríos Cup got underway. It was at the Patronato de La Paz stadium, with arbitration by Santiago Folmer, that the first leg match was played between Malvinas, the host, and Peñarol de Paraná.

He Tricolor Paranaense started the game strong, as they managed to take the lead 15 minutes into the first half through Andrés Bolognini. However, still in the first half, Malvinas tied the game through Thomas Ramírez’s goal in the 41st minute.

In the second half, Malvinas came out determined to keep the advantage heading into the return match and that is why they quickly reversed the score. It was Juan Garcetti who, after 12 minutes, made it 2-1 that would later prove definitive: Malvinas took the victory.

With the victory, the team from La Paz has an advantage in the return match that must be played at the Aníbal Giusti stadium of the Paraná team. For Peñarol, the challenge is set to turn the score around if they want to reach the definition for the Entre Ríos title.

The other semi-final match, which was to be played this Saturday, was finally moved as a result of the bad weather forecast for that day. That is why the match between Gimnasia de Concepción del Uruguay and Victoria de Concordia will finally be played on Wednesday, May 1, from 4 p.m.
