ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Dayton men’s tennis team saw their season come to close with a 4-0 loss to the top-seeded VCU Rams in the Atlantic 10 Championship match on Sunday at the USTA National Campus.
VCU jumped ahead with the doubles point, taking control with wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
The Rams claimed first-set victories on each court except No. 5 singles, where freshman Luis Saraiva picked up to 7-5 frame.
The match was clinched by VCU at No. 2 singles, taking a tiebreak first-set victory, before finishing it all with a 6-3 second-set win. Flyer freshman Kyle McNally split sets at No. 3 singles and was leading in the third, along with Saraiva on court five nearing match victory, when the match was decided.
