El Zorro de Paraná Mariano Werner, with a Ford Mustang, won the final of the Turismo Carretera at the Toay racetrack, in La Pampa, and is the new leader of the championship.
Werner took the victory by taking advantage of the safety car entry due to the abandonment of Gastón Mazzacane (Chevrolet) to overtake Diego Ciantini (Chevrolet), who was leading the race but finished second, while Mauricio Lambiris (Ford) completed the podium .
This compliment is absolutely historic, because in the Turismo Carretera, a new generation car that had already been hinted at in the first race of the year in El Calafate wins, in addition, a Ford Mustang wins again in the province, since the extinct Oscar Cabalén, won the so-called “Vuelta de La Pampa”, with a Ford Mustang of the time, on June 18, 1967.
Second was the one who made the big expense of the weekend, Diego Ciantini, with the Chevrolet of the JP Carrera team, who was left with the training, the classification, the fastest series and only lost the first position in the relaunch. The last step of the podium was occupied by the Uruguayan Mauricio Lambiris, with the Ford Falcon of the Maquin Parts team.
An intense race, with the tireless work of the assistants in the pits to change the tires before a crowd that experienced the event up close and who in many cases spent a week waiting for the doors of the Pampas stage to open.

With this victory, Mariano Werner from Entre Ríos leads the contest with 144.5 points, second, Jose Manuerl Urcera: 126.r, third Esteban Gini: 113.5, fourth Diego Ciantini: 108 and fifth Elio Craparo: 107.5 units.
The next TC race, together with the TC Pista, will be at the Termas de Rio Hondo racetrack on May 11 and 12.
