“So that you have the instruments to govern”

The speech with a mocking tone of Javier Milei at the Libertad Foundation dinner generated controversy and crosses between Ricardo López Murphy and the president. However, despite this situation, The deputy of Hacemos Coalión Federal advanced his support for the Bases Law ready to be discussed in Deputies.

After being criticized by President Javier Milei, Deputy López Murphy stated that he will vote in favor of the decree that will be discussed tomorrow, Monday, in the Chamber of Deputies. He expressed that he will do it so that he “has all the instruments” to be able to administer the country.

«My space, in general, will support the Government so that it has all the instruments to be able to govern. We are going to do it, in many cases like mine, harshly criticizing the measures,” López Murphy said in radio statements. He in turn opined that if the Executive does not have the support of Congress “it will be difficult for the country to get out of the recession.”

On the other hand, the official referred to “low inflation” and maintained that its fall will be most noticeable at the end of the year, but before that he made it clear that he sees an “economic recovery” in the short term.

«I think it is good to have low inflation, but productivity, investment and employment must be increased so that people have more possibilities to spend,” reflected López Murphy.

In that sense, he continued: «It is vital for Argentina to recover growth and that will only be achieved with more exports, more investment and more private employment.

López Murphy gave his opinion on Milei’s economic plan and agreed with Cristina Kirchner

The national deputy agreed with part of the analysis carried out by former president Cristina Kirchner, who indicated that the government achieved the surplus by postponing payments. “There are postponements of payments, there are extraordinarily depressed retirements and spending cuts. There are three things,” López Murphy added.

“The payment of subsidies to electrical companies will be paid with bonds and in that case the corresponding deficit will be recorded. “That is what the former president is referring to,” she continued and stressed that “that’s truethere is that kind of problem.”

According to this, the deputy asked the Government to comply with the law and send a Budget to Congress to clarify what the planned spending scheme is. “I think the best way to solve it is to comply with the Constitution. In the Budget, payments cannot be hidden or postponed. The government has to show everything together and there we will see clearly what the official policy is about. In this first quarter, the balance was with payment postponement, retirement liquefaction and spending cuts,” he concluded.
