Buenos Aires, April 28 (EFE).- The number of deaths from dengue in Argentina rose to 280 after 42 new deaths were confirmed in the last week, according to official data released this Sunday.

According to the latest epidemiological bulletin of the Argentine Ministry of Health, the cases of dengue recorded so far this season (from week 31 of 2023 to week 16 of 2024) amount to 396,484, which implies an increase of 63,400 cases compared to the previous week’s report.

So far this year alone, dengue cases total 379,341, of which 871 were classified as serious.

According to the report, the trend reveals that the peak of the epidemic curve at the national level occurred in week 12 of this year, with 55,476 cases, since in the three subsequent weeks differences of 8%, 6% and 44% were recorded. % lower than the peak number.

According to the report, 54% of the deaths were women and the median age of fatal cases was 49 years.
