The national government, chaired by Javier Milei, announced a few days ago that it will no longer print or send textbooks to schools in Argentina. Following this development, the Minister of Education of San Juan, Silvia Fuentes, explained that the schools will work with the texts they have in their libraries, although she clarified that they will control that the contents do not indoctrinate the students.

This statement by the minister comes in the midst of strong accusations from milleism, which assures that there are many universities that indoctrinate students. Given these opinions, Fuentes assured that the children from local schools will work with the books that are in the school. school, but control will be carried out to prevent it from spreading any type of political ideology.

In contact with HUARPE DIARYthe official explained that “in the crisis situation that the province is going through, the Government is not in a position to invest in buying or printing books,” which is why the schools will work with the texts that are already in their libraries, she clarified.

“There are beautiful collections in the schools and we are going to take advantage of them. We are going to try, during this time, to work with the books we have,” said the official, who said that before sharing the content with the children, they will review what is not disseminated. ideology.

This confirmation from Fuentes comes in the days before the formal launch of a Provincial Reading Plan that will seek to improve the text comprehension of kindergarten, primary and secondary school students.

Regarding the texts that the students will address, he explained that they will not only read what is in the libraries, but that teachers can also contribute content. “For example, a Language teacher told me that she works in a technical school and gives robotics texts to the kids because it is what they like the most, we must work based on their interests,” said the educator.

Fuentes added that in addition to this, the teacher produces many texts and can make them available to the student or add content from local authors. “I was recently at a school in Calingasta and they told me that they had texts by the Calingastina poet Ofelia Zúccoli. I think it is very good that the children can access these texts that talk about their town, their history,” explained the minister. “It is better to have a text that excites or excites the child,” Fuentes concluded.

Repetition

Fuentes also spoke about the levels of repetition at the secondary level and acknowledged that “there are some years that are complex. Second and fourth years are usually hinges and that’s where the kids repeat.” He added that they are constantly analyzing the problem to find strategies for the children to get ahead.

Then the official added that the children tell of the support classes in the Conectar Lab that will continue to be given with reinforcement in the exam months that will be in July and in December and February.

Away

The Minister of Education also spoke about the lack of teachers for the secondary level in remote departments. In this sense, she recognized that teachers have problems reaching the interior departments due to the increase in bus fares.

Faced with this problem, Education signed agreements with the municipalities of the interior, so that the communes can provide mobility that takes educators to schools. There are also cases of communes in which the municipalities transport students who live in very remote areas.
