The investigation into the operation of the clandestine virtual casinos that operated in the Capital city began at the beginning of the year, according to the information accessed by El Ancasti. However, last week the case gained more momentum with the criminal complaint made by authorities from the Credit and Benefits Fund (CAPRESCA) of the Province in the Attorney General’s Office building.
According to the details known to this medium, CAPRESCA reported that two establishments that were enabled as cybers were offering gambling services where the money from the bets was bet and collected. These cyberspaces, where the virtual clandestine casinos operated, were located on Presidente Arturo Illia and Virgen del Valle avenues.
Last Friday, members of the Cybercrimes Division of the Police, with the assistance of judicial officials Marcelo Monllau, Criminal Secretary of the Investigative Prosecutor’s Office No. 7 with jurisdiction in Computer Crimes; and the delegates of Judicial Units No. 3 and 4, Nahim Carram and Miguel Mercado; and the collaboration of their peers from the Investigations, Homicide, IT Divisions and the General Directorate of Criminalistics, carried out two raids. The first was done in a cyber located on Avenida Presidente Arturo Illia. There they seized a gray Xiaomi cell phone, a notebook with several notes of interest to the case and four pendrives that contained information from different PCs.
The second took place at the Virgen del Valle Avenue location. There they seized a DVR equipment, three cell phones of different brands and models, a CPU, various documentation, two posnets, notebooks, invoice books and service receipts. All the seized items were made available to the Prosecutor of Instruction No. 6, Facundo Barros Jorrat, who is investigating the case.
On the other hand, it was learned that the Prosecutor’s Office is waiting for the evidence seized in the raids to be processed in the Forensic Satellite Laboratory of the Judicial Branch. In addition, it was learned that there were people betting on the moment when the police raided the cybers. For now, there are no people deprived of their liberty in this case.
