In advanced control operations by the Ibagué Metropolitan Police in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office through the Government Secretariat Several commercial establishments were closed.

“We are carrying out operations to establish the noise pollution of these establishments and thus guarantee peace of mind to the community. These actions have been a request from our mayor,” said Francisco Espín, director of Justice.
It was found that These businesses exceeded the limits of loudness, finding some at 90 decibels, when what is allowed by the norm is 60 in a residential area.
“These actions are in order to make people aware of the importance of noise moderation. We recommend that citizens and merchants be able to abide by the different norms and laws, in order to improve our coexistence and our security,” said Colonel Alexander Cendales.
The authorities stated that These operations will continue in different sectors of the city where complaints have been filed by the community due to the discomfort generated by the loud noise generated by these commercial establishments.
