Public Assistance received its first patients and responds to medical emergencies 24 hours a day.

Public Assistance It reopened its doors this Monday and began providing 24-hour medical emergency care. The mayor Rossana Chahla received the first patients who came to request the services of the healthcare center located at Chacabuco 239, which was reopened last Friday.

“We treated four patients in 15 minutes since we opened the Assistance,” Chahla reported, early this Monday morning. “Since the offer is fantastic and the attention is incredible, we will not be surprised that within a very short time we will have a lot of demand,” she added.

The mayor highlighted that the remodeling, refunctionalization and expansion of Public Assistance works carried out by the Municipality of San Miguel de Tucumán under her management represent “a milestone that has to do with giving back to the people what the people wanted. It is listening to the people, having taken this message and today making it a reality.”

The municipal chief expressed her satisfaction that “people come here and trust, and once again have this place of care for all the residents of San Miguel de Tucumán.”

Chahla reiterated that the reopening of that emblematic building also meant a vindication for the employees who worked there for decades. “The workers are very happy, people to whom we have returned, as they say, their home, Public Assistance, where they worked for more than 30 years,” he said.

Finally, he recalled that, in the next stages, it is planned to expand the services provided at the site. “We are going to go for dental and ophthalmological care and of course there will be no shortage of the Women’s Clinic, which has to do with my essence, gynecology, the care of women, so that is going to be the last stage for serve all the women of San Miguel de Tucumán,” he anticipated.

The director of Public Assistance, Karina Faccioli, reminded the community that in the ground floor facilities they can request “medical and nursing care with all the basic controls, injections, dressings and blood pressure control. In the event that an abbreviated hospitalization is needed, the facilities can also be used.”

The official commented about the first patients who received care. “A 26-year-old patient with moderate dengue fever which required a shortened hospitalization for hydration. The others were basic consultations, a feverish syndrome, an ear pain (an otitis), and a pain in the nasal passages,” she specified.

Finally, Faccioli explained that they make referrals in cases that need it because they are more complex. “We are talking about a place with quality care, but low complexity, so patients who need prolonged hospitalization or some type of intervention will be referred to more complex institutions,” he reported.
