Cuba and Mexico evaluated projects for the development of scientific research and medical technologies as part of joint efforts to strengthen ties between both nations in health matters.
During an exchange held by health authorities from both countries, within the framework of the working visit carried out by a delegation from the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) to Mexico, experiences developed in recent years were shared, a time in which the collaboration in hospitals and communities, the training of human resources, advice in primary care and academic exchange in specialties such as Oncology and Cardiology, the Minsap reported on its website.
Headed by José Angel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health on the Island, members of the health sector also addressed cooperation in health regulation between the Laboratory for Analytical Control and Expansion of Coverage of the Federal Commission for the Protection against Health Risks ( Cofepris), Mexican and the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED), Cuban.
Cooperation with the health services of the Mexican Institute of Social Security for Wellbeing (IMSS-Bienestar) was also evaluated, as well as in scientific research and medical technology projects with the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technology of the States.
