This Monday, more than 20 mayors will gather at the Federal Meeting of Capital and Alternative Cities which will be held in Rosario; where he already confirmed his presence Armando Molinamayor of The Rioja. On behalf of the national government they will attend Guillermo FrancosMinister of the Interior of the country, and a team from the Ministry of Economy. The objective of this meeting will be to define common guidelines between the most important municipalities in the interior of the country..
In statements made through Re FM 107.3Armando Molina stated: “We are in the territory where our country divides the north and the south. Between Ríos, Córdoba and Santa Fe: the central provinces. Perhaps, the most benefited by politics, by commerce, by industry; it is where the notable difference in the asymmetries between the north and the south, with the center”.
In relation to the expectations of the meeting, the Riojan mayor announced: “We come from La Rioja with the mandate to keep Governor Quintela’s flags at the highest level. This country has a direction that is not the direction that our people want, and I doubt that it is the direction of the people who voted for this government. . “Here we come to offer our work capacity, the economy of good people that we have in the north.”.
Since the creation of the Federal Network of Mayors, officials are in constant dialogue and, a month ago, they decided that the birthplace of the flag would be the venue for this meeting. On other occasions, the mayors had gathered in Buenos Aires to demand the reduction of the Transportation Compensation Fund, and held other meetings in the city of Córdoba. On this occasion, it will be the first time that they meet with a broader agenda and with the aim of outlining different positions. The purpose is to share views on current events, define guidelines and act together, mainly, when presenting needs to the national government.
The mayor of the host city, Pablo Javkinnoted in relation to the meeting: “It is a new topic because we mayors did not have a meeting framework of this type in Argentina”. As in previous conclaves, public transportation will have a prominent place on the agenda: “With respect to transportation, we have several work points: one is how what is collected from the fuel tax is distributed; another has to do with the possibility of changing cars and changing energy matrices, obviously that requires an investment; and also some that have to do with the social attributes of the SUBE and the difference in costs that we have today”Javkin deepened.
Finally, the Rosario mayor remarked: “Even with 100% of the subsidies, this conflict also affects the circulation of public transport in the AMBA, which is why we have to address this issue on Monday”.
