An investment of more than 10 billion pesos with a reach of 1,261 beneficiary SMEs is the balance made by the regional director of Corfo Tarapacá, Catalina Cortés, as the state corporation turns 85 years since its creation, and as Entrepreneur’s Day is celebrated. this April 29.

The authority emphasized that the figures managed are historic in Tarapacá, highlighting the funds granted at the central level, which are added to the allocations of the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR) through the Government and the Regional Council of Tarapacá.

He also highlighted that “a significant percentage of the resources, from now on, will be focused by the recently established Tarapacá Productive Development Committee, made up of 14 members representing the public, private and academic sectors of the region.”

Cortés highlighted that “as we celebrate our 85th Anniversary, in the Tarapacá region we are surprised by a transition from a two-way and centralized system, to a regional, participatory mechanism with decisions from the territory, thus granting greater autonomy and focus to our own interests. from our area.”

Likewise, he pointed out that “today we are moving towards a strategy with deep regional meaning, with Corfo as strategic axes of actions on climate change, renewable energy and green hydrogen, logistics and international trade, production and services for mining, food sustainability, tourism, innovation, technology transfer, technology-based companies, and human capital.”

Management 2023 and projection 2024

The 2023 management at Corfo Tarapacá involved a global investment of $1,866,164,290.-, with a reach of 371 MSMEs benefiting. These figures correspond to $1,305,982,730.- of national Corfo resources (248 beneficiaries); and $560,181,560 from FNDR Funds (123 beneficiaries)

The projection for 2024 of Corfo Tarapacá consults resources for $8,335,312,869.- (347 percent increase in relation to 2023), benefiting 890 multisector MSMEs in the region (140 percent increase in the same period).

Of this amount, $2,047,654,000.- correspond to national funds (CDPR and DFL 15) with 240 beneficiaries; and $6,287,658,869.- to FNDR funds with 650 MSMEs supported, highlighting among the projects the Industrial and Technological Park of Pozo Almonte and the Logistics and Truck Parking Platform of Alto Hospicio.
