National Commission assures that it will investigate the referee’s incident in Pinar del Río

The National Baseball Commission ruled this Monday on the issue of the referee and the false name, one of the most controversial issues of the current National Series.

According to information provided by journalist Boris Luis Cabrera, the National Baseball Commission has recognized that a false name was used for the local amplification of the Capitán San Luis stadium during a game in which Ricardo Campanioni refereed.

This referee, after serving a two-match ban, was authorized to officiate in weekend games. The source points out that it has not yet been determined who gave the order to use the false namebut it was assured in a press conference that this decision never came from the referee commissioner or the game.

In response to this incident, a commission of investigation has been established in order to clarify the situation and determine responsibility for it.

A complaint by the prestigious sports journalist, Michel Contreras, uncovered a fact that further lit the fuse of something that, weeks ago, had provoked an angry controversy, as a result of a play at third base that decided a ball game between Matanzas and Pinar del Rio at the Capitán San Luis Stadium.

Michel Contreras, citing a source, assured that the referee in question, who had supposedly been sanctioned, returned to the field as if nothing had happened, although this time with a name that was not his.
