During the afternoon of this Monday, a school service bus transporting eleven students from the Nationalized Women’s School of Villavicencio was hit by a truck in the La Vega neighborhood, located in Comuna Siete of the capital of Meta.

The crash left six girls, between 6 and 12 years old, injured. Of these minors, four were transferred to the Primavera Clinic in Villavicencio, where they were evaluated by specialists.

Hernán Pinzón, rector of the Nationalized Women’s School of Villavicencio, confirmed that after being evaluated by specialist doctors, the minors are out of danger and do not have serious injuries.

“The minors were medically evaluated and are out of danger. Only one girl had a wound on one of her eyebrows, but it is not serious. At this time the minors are already at home with their families,” reported the rector of the Women’s school.

For her part, María Lucero Bastos, a teacher at the Villavicencio Women’s School, released details of what happened in the middle of this accident, after holding a conversation with the driver of this school route.

According to the driver of the school route, the truck suddenly appeared and hit them. It came very fast. Everyone lived moments of panic, but thank God the girls, the monitor and the driver are in good health,” said teacher María Lucero Bastos.

For their part, traffic authorities reported that they are investigating this accident to clarify what happened.

The authorities also reported that The driver of the vehicle that crashed this school route and a companion were transferred to a medical center in the capital of Metawhere they are treated, since after the accident they suffered several injuries.

After this accident, which involved several minors, the traffic authorities in the capital of Meta asked drivers not to exceed the speed on the streets or avenues because accidents could occur, such as the one recorded this Monday afternoon in Villavicencio.
