“That we had not, at least, known about in previous antecedents. This is new from that perspective,” she added.
According to Caifal, what happened to the three murdered police officers was “an ambush. So, these people have to be very close to the place where this unfortunate episode occurred. “I’m not thinking perhaps of people from the north of the country, but rather there has to be an organic, elaboration of this crime with residents of those sectors.”
Along these lines, they may also be “foreign cells, because here there is also a message behind this crime. It is no coincidence that the day was chosen for the commission of this crime. A couple of weeks ago, a few weeks ago, we knew about the conviction of Héctor Llaitul. So, we have several elements, but the date coincides with the commemoration of the Carabineros anniversary.”

Caifal is a lawyer from the Universidad Mayor de Temuco. He was born in the Ricardo Rayin indigenous community, located in the Quepe sector in the Freire commune.
