The Zonda wind arrived yesterday in the city of Tinogasta, causing strong gusts that were felt throughout the jurisdiction. Starting in the morning, the light winds increased in intensity, reaching their greatest magnitude during the siesta hours.
Due to the strong gusts of wind, the electrical service was affected due to the fall of poles and columns.
EC SAPEM operators worked in the area where the wiring of the medium voltage line of the electrical system fell to the ground.

In dialogue with El Ancasti, Martín Carrizo, director of Civil Defense of Tinogasta, commented that they were working on the La Puntilla – Copacabana section since power lines, masonry and signage fell at the site.
Carrizo asked the drivers who were traveling through said place to travel through the heavy traffic detour, due to the work being done there by EC SAPEM personnel, together with Civil Defense and the Provincial Police.
Suspension of activities
As a result of the inclement weather that hit the department, some primary schools suspended their activities. For their part, gyms, beauty clinics and businesses closed their doors to the public.
On the other hand, the Secretariat of Public Services of the Municipality of Tinogasta had to suspend waste collection in the urban area due to adverse weather conditions.

Civil Defense of the city of Tinogasta issued a statement in which it attached recommendations to protect oneself from the strong gusts:
*Secure elements that the wind can blow away.
*Stay away from trees because their branches may break.
*Do not park vehicles under trees, posts, columns.
*Keep homes closed, as airtight as possible.

In one of its latest updates, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued a yellow alert for winds and snowfall.
It is in effect from Sunday until today afternoon for the area of the Antofagasta de la Sierra Mountain Range and the Tinogasta Mountain Range.
“The mountain area will be affected by winds from the western sector with speeds between 60 and 80 km/h, with gusts that can exceed 100 km/h, especially at the highest levels,” they warned.
“White wind” in Fiambalá
The SMN had also predicted a snowfall alert for the mountain region and yesterday on the way to the Balcón de Pissis and Los Seismiles, in the town of Fiambalá, the white wind was present, thus leaving the entire landscape painted.n
