Deputies generally approved the “Law of bases and starting points for the freedom of Argentines” with 142 votes in favor, 105 against and five abstentions. In the particular debate, by chapters, all points were also approved. In this way the Bases Law obtained half a sanction in deputies, now it remains to know what will happen in the Chamber of Senators.
To analyze the main points of the Base Law we spoke with Marco Galán, director of La Ranchada and president of Mutual Carlos Múgica, who assured that what was approved today in deputies “is a catalog of bad news.” Although the law already has half a sanction, it must now be sent to the Senate for treatment.
Regarding how the path of the Base Law continues, Galán indicated that “the government is not assured that the senate will approve it,” since in this room the influence of the governors plays a lot, and the DNU, “we will have to see how the Milei government organizes the strategy to guarantee the vote in the senate,” he assured.
