Surprising results were obtained from the study by Preply, a language learning platform that was responsible for analyzing which were the rudest cities in Colombia, in order to “be able to better understand the reasons behind the vulgar, foul-mouthed or rude language of Colombians.”

And in that list of 20 cities, Medellín, the capital of Antioquia, is the city that leads as the rudest in Colombia. They added that the city is where residents use around 9 bad words a day. In second and third place for the cities with the most foul language are Manizales and Cali, according to the study.

These are the 20 Colombian cities where the most rude things are said

2. Manizales, Caldas: 8 bad words per day

3. Cali, Valle del Cauca: 8 bad words per day

4. Bucaramanga, Santander: 7 bad words per day

5. Beautiful. Antioquia: 7 bad words per day

6. Santa Marta, Magdalena: 7 bad words per day

7. Soacha, Cundinamarca: 6 bad words per day

8. Pereira, Risaralda: 6 bad words per day

9. Bogotá, Cundinamarca: 6 bad words per day

10. Soledad, Antioquia: 6 bad words per day

11. Pasto, Nariño: 6 bad words per day

12. Villavicencio, Meta: 6 bad words per day

13. Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca: 5 bad words per day

14. Valledupar, Cesar: 5 bad words per day

15. Ibagué, Tolima: 5 bad words per day

16. Cartagena, Bolívar: 5 bad words per day

17. Montería, Córdoba: 5 bad words per day

18. Neiva, Huila: 5 bad words per day

19. Cúcuta, Norte de Santander: 4 bad words per day

20. Barranquilla, Atlántico: 4 bad words per day

Furthermore, they added that in Colombia Women are ruder than men, since 45.44% of them say more than five bad words a day, while men reach 42.23%.

In turn, they indicated that among the age groups, those between 16 and 24 years old say the most bad words per day (7 words), and this decreases as the years go by.

Other results showed that people tend to say more Rudeness when out and about with friends 37%followed when they are at home 17%, in the car 18%, and at work 9%.
