Minors must go through a landslide to get to their school in Hobo

Landslide puts the journey of boys and girls who go to school at risk.

In the El Porvenir village of the municipality of Hobo, students face a daily odyssey to get to school. In addition to the long five or six kilometers they must walk, they now encounter a new obstacle: a landslide blocks the only road that connects the community with the educational institution.

This Monday morning, a large landslide fell on the road, further complicating the children’s already risky journey. This incident has seriously endangered the safety of the students, who are forced to climb the mound of dirt to get to class.

The biggest fear among the community is the possibility of another slide while the children try to cross. The lack of time to react to an emergency of this type increases the risk for those passing through the area.

Faced with this situation, the inhabitants of the El Porvenir village make an urgent call to the local authorities to send heavy machinery to allow the removal of the earth and thus clear the road. This action will not only guarantee the safety of children on their way to school, but also of all residents who depend on this route to access basic services.
