The Government of Change Establishes the Pacific Table – Chocó Chapter of the National System of International Cooperation, to Promote the Development of the Department

The National System of International Cooperation arrived in Chocó through the installation of the Pacific Table; a tool that will allow establishing joint actions and goals to prioritize, mobilize and leverage resources that promote territorial projects and initiatives in favor of the development of the Department.

The Pacific Table – Chocó Chapter, promoted by the Foreign Ministry, the Presidential Agency for International Cooperation of Colombia, APC Colombia, and the National Planning Department, is the result of joint work between the National Government, the Government of Chocó, the Mayors, Cooperators from Official Development Assistance and Multilateral Agencies.

Its installation will link new collaborators in the management and development of projects in the Department and will serve to diversify the cooperation offer.

This is the first Table of the System that is installed at the territorial level and has among its objectives to strengthen subnational diplomacy to contribute to the generation of decent living opportunities for vulnerable communities.

With the establishment of the Pacific Table – Chocó Chapter of the National System of International Cooperation, the Government of Change fulfills the commitment made by President Gustavo Petro, within the framework of the Government with the People in January 2024.

About the National System of International Cooperation

The System, which is the main mechanism for coordination and articulation of cooperation actors, is led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Planning Department and the Presidential Agency for International Cooperation of Colombia, APC Colombia.

The main objective of the System created through Decree 603 of 2022 is that the management of non-reimbursable cooperation contributes to the achievement of the country’s foreign policy objectives and is aligned with the development priorities of the National Government.

The System has different Operating Tables, which are the scenarios where the different actors are articulated and coordinated. They are thematic and territorial working groups, which design work plans with detailed roles and monitoring mechanisms.
