The Academic Vice-Rector of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, through the Teaching Development Program, carried out the welcome session for the Training of Assistants, an instance that was developed virtually, beginning a fundamental training process for the and future assistants that are framed with the Educational Model, the Qualification Framework in University Teaching and the Institutional Strategic Development Plan 2023-2029.

The virtual meeting served as a platform to begin the training and present the Assistant Training program, which covers 22 hours contemplating modules that involve a combination of virtual and in-person sessions, as well as autonomous work in the virtual classroom, in which close One hundred participants were informed about the distribution into groups with assigned tutors, who will be available to guide sessions, resolve doubts and provide guidance throughout the workshop.

Some of the aspects that were revealed in the instance for the students who begin this stage were to take advantage of this process to acquire specific tools and knowledge to fulfill their assistantships, as well as strengthen the interaction between teachers and students to generate a enriching learning environment, also emphasizing the commitment to active participation and compliance with mandatory activities, both virtual and in-person.

Fernanda Rejas, coordinator of the Training area of ​​the Teacher Development Program, reminded the students that the purpose of the modules “is so that you can apply this learning in your role, you can take advantage of your training both on a personal and student level. , as well as enriching their resume and later also being able to use these skills in the various fields in which they will work.”

On the occasion, the schedule of the training modules was detailed (which is available on the website) and the need for transparent communication and timely resolution of any problems that may arise during the process was highlighted. The welcome session not only marked the beginning of a training and development journey for future assistants, but also reaffirmed the PUCV’s commitment to educational quality and the comprehensive training of its students.
