President Víctor Ramón Vargas Salazar was chosen as a member of the most important peace body in the country in an event held in the city of Bogotá.

Before the high commissioner for peace Otty Patiño Hormaza, the mayor of Campoalegre Víctor Ramon Vargas Salazar took office as a member of the National Peace Council.
The appointment of the leader of the Campoalegrunos occurred within the framework of the last session of the National Council of Peace, Reconciliation and Coexistence held in the city of Bogotá.
The nomination of Víctor Ramon Vargas Salazar as National Peace Advisor is a recognition of his commitment and leadership in promoting peace and reconciliation in the region, highlighted officials close to the mayor.
It is important to remember that this designation is made as agreed in the 2024 National Congress of Municipalities, in which Vargas Salazar was designated as representative of all the municipalities of Colombia before the National Peace Council.
In his role as National Peace Advisor, Vargas Salazar was appointed as Coordinator of the Third Commission of the National Council of Peace, Reconciliation and Coexistence in charge of monitoring and compliance with the Peace Agreements.
He was accompanied during the possession by David Ramírez Jiménez, Legal Advisor of the Municipality of Campoalegre; and Horacio Duque, Peace Commissioner advisor, among others.
