The Government obtains general approval of the Base Law and enters into the discussion of key articles.

After an intense day of debate in the Chamber of Deputies, the Government achieved general approval of the Base Law, a milestone that marks the beginning of a new phase of discussion on crucial articles for its implementation.

The project was supported by 142 votes in favor, mainly thanks to the majority support of the dialogue blocks, while it received 106 votes against and five abstentions.

As for the Jujean representatives, Manuel Quintar, Natalia Sarapura and Jorge Rizzotti gave their support to the project, showing their support for the bases proposed by the Government.

On the other hand, deputies Leila Chaher, Guillermo Snopek and Alejandro Vilca positioned themselves against the project, expressing their reservations and objections regarding certain aspects of the law.

With this general approval, the Government now faces a new stage of discussion and detailed analysis of the key articles of the Base Law, a process that will surely continue to generate intense debates and conflicting positions in the legislative field.
