Despite the heavy rain that fell in Valledupar, this Tuesday the children’s and youth Piloneras Parade took place, in which 59 groups of boys, girls and adolescents walked the streets to the rhythm of the Pilón dance.
The parade, which filled music, folklore and joy in the streets of Valledupar, They took place within the framework of the Vallenata Legend Festival that pays tribute to Iván Villazón, in his 20 years of artistic life.

The first groups to show their talent were the smallest in the children’s category; one by one they presented to the public the routines that they had rehearsed for monthssurprising everyone with the synchronicity of their choreographies.
The following were the participants of the youth category, who stood out for their dancing skills, while they were applauded by thousands of families and childrens, who did not stop encouraging each of the groups.
The president of the Vallenata Legend Festival Foundation, Rodolfo Molina Araújoassured that “the parade of piloneras Every year more contestants are added to continue with the rescue of this traditional dance of Valledupar”.

He added that “this parade has been held for 30 years, first for adults and then the youth and children categories were added. Thank you all for being faithful to this tradition that fills us with pride alongside the immense festival family.”
In this competition, the jury evaluates the choreographies and stage presentations for which the participants have been practicing for weeks in the city.
This parade was the preamble to the Piloneras Mayors parade, which will take place this Wednesday, May Day, from the Alfonso López school to the Pilonera Mayor Consuelo Araujo Noguera roundabout.
