ANLA gave free rein to the Western Regiotram, in Cundinamarca

Last year the environmental license was denied for this railway project, but with the issuance of Decree 520 by the National Government, the ANLA gave free rein to the Western Regiotram.

A week ago, the National Government issued the Decree number 520 of April 24, 2024in which railway projects are exempt based on clean energies from the environmental licensing process.

Under the previous decree, the National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA) gave the Regiotram of the West free rein to advance its construction, since does not need an environmental license.

Thus, the ANLA issued Auto N°002715, which orders the filing and completion of the procedure environmental license for the Regiotram de Occidente project, presented by the Empresa Férrea Regional SAS

The above means that the project does not require an environmental license, which is why ANLA filed the procedure and will proceed to return the documentation provided by the Railway Company.

Thus things, the Regiotram of the West will continue its course and it is expected that in six months there will be concrete progress on this corridor that will link Bogotá with the municipalities of Mosquera, Faca, Funza and Madrid, in Cundinamarca.
