The weather, after a week without noticeable rain throughout the community, continues to be the main concern of Riojan farmers. The drought is prolonged and spreading its negative effects on all dryland crops. In winter cereals, which are going through their phases of maximum water needs, damage is already noticeable in all producing areas, even in those with the highest rainfall, such as the Tirón valley. In rapeseed, water shortage shortens its size and reduces its flowering phase, which will undoubtedly translate into lower yields.

During this week, stockists have seen how demand has decreased again, which has caused a general drop in prices for all products. It is lettuce that shows a slight increase due to the lack of gender, after remaining below the production cost for four weeks. In the field, during these days the last cauliflowers of the winter varieties have been collected, making way for the spring varieties that are now ready to be harvested. The same thing happens with broccoli, which returns to trading on the board with the harvest of the first units of the spring varieties.
