Club Atlético Talleres, known by many as Talleres de Remedios de Escalada, although its fans strongly assert that it should only be mentioned as Talleres (arguing that it was the first team with that name to be founded in the country -on 1 June 1906 -, even before the T Cordoba – in 1913 -), it was one of the 18 founding teams of professional soccer in Argentina, in that 1931 tournament.
As for tonight’s match, Racing debuted with a 3-0 victory against San Martín de Burzaco; while Talleres, for its part, returned to the competition after a three-year absence with a 2-1 victory over Atlético Rafaela, for the 32nd round.
The winner will face the winner of the duel between Banfield and Independiente Rivadavia in the round of 16.
