César Farías, the former technical director of América de Cali, spoke on Sports Blog about the circumstances surrounding his recent departure from the club. After his departure confirmed on April 30, in a statement where the team expressed that the decision was mutual, Farías clarifies that his departure was not motivated by threats, as was speculated on social networks.
During his management at América de Cali, Farías led the team in 19 games, achieving a balance of six wins, six losses and seven draws. The Venezuelan coach assured that the passion and demand of the fans were factors that influenced his departure from the team.
Contrary to rumors, Farías assured that his departure was not the result of threats. “On Monday we met and they didn’t tell me anything (…) Things didn’t go as we expected and I’m not making excuses. Sometimes things go well for us coaches. Sometimes not”he explained.
Furthermore, Farías pointed out: “They are a demanding fan, a fan with energy and strength. We went through a period of changes in the club, a very difficult period.”
I lacked, let’s say, a little more of a strong hand, but also not wanting to go beyond the guidelines of the institution because there were things with which I did not agree.

Regarding his future plans, Farías was optimistic and open to new opportunities. “I am open to new opportunities and projects that seduce me,” He commented and assured that although he does not rule out the possibility of continuing in Colombia, he is willing to explore other options that may arise in his career.
“Whenever I have had a stage like the one I went through in América de Cali, when I arrive at my next team I always come out champion,” he assured. For now, the coach is enjoying a well-deserved rest with his family, time that he is taking advantage of to recharge his batteries and prepare for the next challenges in his professional career.
