The National Army dismantled a clandestine laboratory dedicated to the production of coca base paste in the department of Guaviare, a significant blow to drug trafficking in southeastern Colombia.
The laboratory, located in the sector known as Puerto Nare, in the municipality of Miraflores, was located and disabled thanks to intelligence information provided by the civilian population.
Inside this clandestine infrastructure, which produced approximately 15 kilograms of coca base paste per month, various elements used in the manufacturing process of the alkaloid were found.
Among them, there are 55 gallons of pressed coca leaves, 25 kilos of lime, 7 55-gallon plastic containers with chopped coca leaves, a coca leaf press, a drum with 55 gallons of ACPM, and other liquids used in the production. production.
This important discovery represents a hard blow to illicit economies, generating losses estimated at 30 million pesos per month for groups dedicated to drug trafficking in the region.
In addition, it contributes significantly to the protection of the environment in the Amazon, by eliminating a source of pollution associated with this type of illegal activities.
