Agonizing victory against Athens | Salta Basket one step away from reaching the semifinals

In a vibrant match, Los Infernales defeated Griego in overtime 92-90 and took a 2-1 lead in the quarterfinal series. The next match will be this Saturday at the Delmi Stadium.

In a truly great game and in front of a spectacular crowd, Salta Basket defeated Atenas in overtime 92-90 and took a 2-1 lead in the quarterfinal series. Despite the absence of one of their scorers, Diego Peralta, due to gastroenteritis problems, the Salta team stood firm and once again made the powerful Atenas uncomfortable.

In the first two periods, Agustín Jara and Lucio Castellani shone for Salta, while Montero from Santiago led the visiting offensive. The Salta public enjoyed an outstanding match in the second division of Argentine basketball. The Córdoba team arrived as a favorite to obtain promotion (they finished in second place in the regular season), while Los Infernales (finished tenth) entered after reclassification and are causing a surprise in the Northern Conference.

The end of the game was a true definition of a heart attack. Salta Basket was up by the bare minimum (79-78) with little time remaining, but Atenas managed to tie it at 83 with a three-pointer by Arn at the buzzer. In overtime, both teams remained very even until Salta Basket won by a tight 92-90, unleashing a huge party at the Delmi Stadium.

With this result, Salta Basket went ahead 2-1 in the series and was one victory away from advancing to the Conference semifinals. The fourth game will be played this Saturday, also in Salta, with the opportunity for the local team to seal their classification.
