In a truly great game and in front of a spectacular crowd, Salta Basket defeated Atenas in overtime 92-90 and took a 2-1 lead in the quarterfinal series. Despite the absence of one of their scorers, Diego Peralta, due to gastroenteritis problems, the Salta team stood firm and once again made the powerful Atenas uncomfortable.
In the first two periods, Agustín Jara and Lucio Castellani shone for Salta, while Montero from Santiago led the visiting offensive. The Salta public enjoyed an outstanding match in the second division of Argentine basketball. The Córdoba team arrived as a favorite to obtain promotion (they finished in second place in the regular season), while Los Infernales (finished tenth) entered after reclassification and are causing a surprise in the Northern Conference.
