Two dead soldiers and five more wounded result from clashes between National Army troops and FARC dissidents in the municipality of Toribio, in the department of Cauca.

According to the report of National Army, The dead soldiers are two professional soldiers, while other uniformed men were injured during the fighting that lasted for several days.

Three dissidents of the party also lost their lives in these combats. Central General Staff of the dissidents, while a minor who had been forced to belong to that insurgent group was rescued by the troops.

The Third Army Division revealed that the pertinent actions are being carried out to remove the bodies of the dead uniformed soldiers from the area and transfer them to Popayan.

The authorities revealed that the situation in the Cauca continues to be critical, due to these confrontations that affect the troops as well as the local communities.
