In Quindío, with 30 soldiers from the military engineering battalion, the Army’s Eighth Brigade, support the work of removing the collapses that have occurred as a result of the rains.

And he added “the previous week in coordination with the mayor of Circasia and the public company of Quindío We attended to 33 landslides that affected the mouth of the aqueduct of the municipality of Circasia in which, since the Battalion’s Disaster Assistance and Prevention platoon was used as such, they went to remove those landslides, because of the importance because 7,300 people benefited. In addition to that, we also have what is the yellow line machinery. which is ready at the time required, in coordination with the National Risk Unit and the Quindío government office.”

As such, we have a platoon of 30 men with their commanders who are trained, they have received different training for emergency response and it is complemented by the machinery, a backhoe, a compactor, an excavator and dump trucks for the purpose of landslide removal and debris”

Quindío on red and orange alert

According to Ideam, Quindío has three municipalities on Red alert, Salento, Circasia and Filandia and eight on orange alert, Armenia, Calarcá, Montenegro, Quimbaya, Buenavista, Córdoba, Pijao and Génova due to the risk of landslides and the flooding of rivers and streams.
