In an expanded session, held in the commune of San Fernando, the Green Regionalist political party elected its new regional board of directors on a joint basis, as required by its statutes. In addition, they analyzed the regional scenario and the upcoming electoral period for this year, with the elections for mayors, councilors, regional councilors and governor.

A complete restructuring of its regional organization was carried out by the Green Regionalist Political Party. To the new regional board, headed by Aníbal Pérez and María Rivas (joint president), changes were also made to the Regional Councilors, to the Disciplinary Court, in charge of Gender and Dissidence.

This was announced by the new president of the Green Regionalists. “We have assumed the regional presidency of the party and we do so responsibly, always thinking about the well-being of the inhabitants of the O’Higgins Region. We have had to take office in a very difficult period, an electoral period, and our party, Regionalista Verde, wants to have an active presence in the 33 communes of the O’Higgins Region.”

In this sense, Aníbal Pérez reported that the party has registered two candidates for mayors to participate in the primary process, next June 9, in the communes of Rancagua and San Fernando. These are the Rancagüino doctor Hugo Boza, and the councilor of the capital of Colchagua, Laura Martínez. In addition, candidates who will go directly to the ballot, among them Rubén Jorquera in the commune of Coltauco, and “others that we will inform about in a timely manner.”

Stamp on Regionalism and green

The new helmsman highlighted that “our great challenge is to worry about the issues that really interest people; we want politics to become interested in citizen problems again. And for that, we are going to prepare a series of proposals that we are going to promptly make known to public opinion.”

“We will work so that our ideas, which are regionalism and green, are always present in the public life of our Region. In relation to green, we are concerned about the areas that are sacrifice zones, mainly those of the coastal dryland, with the pig farms, which have meant a very complicated situation for the inhabitants of the Province of Cardenal Caro. And when we talk about regionalism, we want a more decentralized Region, for the problems that occur in the territories to be resolved by the territories, and not for others to decide for us,” expressed Aníbal Pérez.

“I am very happy about this challenge, we are going to do it very seriously, we have a great team of men and women in charge of the party and we hope that we do very well in these electoral challenges that we have during the course of this year,” concluded the regional president of the Green Regionalists, Aníbal Pérez.
