The pride of Puerto Saavedra and fan of Colo Colo got his ticket to the Olympic Games thanks to his registration in the Houston Marathon.

Little by little the delegation of the Team Chile in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In the last few hours, the national representative increased its presence thanks to a new classification in athletics, which now includes three athletes.

The first was the marathon runner Carlos Diaz, who in February achieved the necessary mark to enter the Seville Marathon (Spain). Next was the discus thrower Claudio Romerowho broke the national record for the discipline, and surpassed the minimum record to arrive.

Both athletes are joined on behalf of Chilean athletics Hugo Catrileosilver medalist in the Marathon of the Pan American Games Santiago 2023who got the pass in the Houston test (United States), with time of 2 hours, 8 minutes and 44 seconds.

Although the national record of the discipline was broken by Díaz, at the end of the qualification period for the Olympic Games, the pride of Puerto Saavedra ended up in the 71st place out of 80achieving their presence in the Quote of the Rings.

  • Néstor Almanza – Greco-Roman wrestling.
  • Arantza Inostroza – Fencing.
  • César Abaroa and Eber Sanhueza – Remo.
  • Joaquín Churchill – Taekwondo.
  • Fernanda Aguirre – Taekwondo.
  • Claudio Romero – Discus throw.
  • Hugo Catrileo – Athletics (marathon).

They are added two places secured by Chile in both cycling and canoeing, category C2 500 (to be defined).
