Misiones strengthened its comprehensive security with technological advances and greater presence in the territory, they highlight

The province of Misiones has experienced significant technological development in the field of security. With the implementation of advanced surveillance systems and active presence in the field, the region has improved its capacity to prevent and respond to emergency situations. All of this aims to improve the impact on citizen security with the technological innovations that have been incorporated to improve the effectiveness of the province’s comprehensive security.

In an effort to strengthen security and emergency response, the Government of Misiones has implemented a comprehensive security system. This system includes a large deployment of interconnected surveillance cameras and a Comprehensive 911 Operations Center equipped with cutting-edge technology. In addition, the aim is also to strengthen the presence in the territory and reinforce investment in technology, especially in rural areas. In addition, it constantly renews its police vehicles, and currently, about 80% of the vehicle fleet is less than 3 years old.

SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS AND THE INTEGRAL 911 OPERATIONS CENTER

The province of Misiones has implemented a comprehensive security system that includes the deployment of 2,700 interconnected surveillance cameras. These cameras, strategically distributed in different parts of the province, range from urban areas to rural areas that are difficult to access. The interconnection of these cameras to the Comprehensive 911 Operations Center in Posadas has marked a milestone in the capacity for monitoring and response to emergencies in the region.

The center, equipped with cutting-edge technology, allows the reception, analysis and management of information in real time from surveillance cameras and other security devices deployed in the province. This includes the ability to visualize and coordinate actions of security forces on the ground, as well as managing emergency calls and coordinating resources for an effective response. In addition, it has contributed to crime prevention by deterring the commission of criminal acts in monitored areas.

The preventive approach of the system is reflected in the reduction of crime rates in areas where this technology has been implemented. Furthermore, the generation of visual evidence through surveillance cameras has facilitated investigative work and the clarification of judicial cases, providing an additional tool to the Judiciary for the process of dispensing justice.

The impact of this technology is evident in the towns where the video surveillance system and the 911 Comprehensive Operations Center are present. Among the 32 benefited towns are Posadas, Garupá, Capioví, Candelaria, San Ignacio, Wanda, Puerto Esperanza, San José, San Vicente, Oberá, Leandro N. Alem, Cerro Azul, Apóstoles, Campo de la Sierra, Aristóbulo del Valle, Eldorado, Puerto Rico, Puerto Piray, Montecarlo, Andresito, Azara, Campo Grande, Puerto Iguazú, Irigoyen, Jardín América , Ruiz de Montoya, El Soberbio, San Javier, San Pedro, Santo Pipó, Colonia Victoria. These localities have experienced a significant improvement in security and crime prevention thanks to the implementation of cutting-edge technologies.

However, the expansion and reinforcement of the camera system and the Comprehensive 911 Operations Center are planned in strategic locations such as San Ignacio, Puerto Esperanza, Leandro. N. Alem, Puerto Iguazú, Puerto Rico and other areas of relevance to the security of the province.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AT THE SERVICE OF SECURITY

It is worth highlighting the implementation of the artificial intelligence system implemented in the Comprehensive Operations Center. It has revolutionized the way in which highly complex information from surveillance cameras deployed throughout the province is processed. Thanks to this advanced technology, the ability to investigate and respond to criminal situations has been significantly improved.

Precisely, artificial intelligence has been effectively integrated into the regular operation of police investigations. Through a domain detection system, security rings have been established in different territories and jurisdictions, allowing for more precise surveillance and a faster response to potential threats. Such a system performs detailed monitoring of the detected domains, generating automatic alerts in case of anomalies or suspicious activities.

The operational units work together with this technology to establish criminal patterns, which facilitates decision-making in police operations, raids and arrests.

SOFLEX AND DRONE SQUADRON

In another aspect worth highlighting, the Misiones Police has taken a significant step in terms of security with the incorporation of the SOFLEX tool, a modern system that allows direct interaction of police officers through radio communication. This system, which has more than 500 pieces of equipment, facilitates the control and monitoring of police patrols and operations throughout the province as they are geolocated.

In addition, the 911 Comprehensive Operations Center has implemented this innovative software to strengthen response capacity in emergency situations. Soflex, used by the world’s main security forces, offers real-time visualization of all available resources, allowing the closest mobile phones to the scene to be quickly dispatched and the most appropriate resources assigned throughout the emergency. It also reports the entry and exit of police commissions in the area where the incident occurred.

In parallel, the launch of the country’s first Drone Squadron, destined for preventive air patrol in Misiones, has recently been announced. These drones, equipped with thermal cameras, high-definition cameras and the ability to operate in extreme conditions, constitute a state-of-the-art tool in the fight against rural crimes and drug trafficking.

The UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) Division of the Misiones Police, made up of eight expert pilots, will control the four Matrice 30T professional drones. Drones have flight capabilities at high altitude and speed, along with autonomy that guarantees their effectiveness in special missions. The training of the pilots is underway, which will allow their deployment in the short term to strengthen security in difficult-to-access urban and rural areas in the province.

RURAL DIVISIONS

Likewise, the drive towards greater security in rural areas of Misiones is reflected in the project to create the Rural Police Division in various strategic locations such as Fracrán, Fachinal, San José, Apóstoles and San Ignacio. The new dependencies, strategically located and under the supervision of the corresponding Regional Units. That is, their primary objective is to strengthen the police presence in key areas for the protection of the rural community.

The initiative seeks to focus on the protection of rural areas, bringing police officers closer to settlers and providing comprehensive support in terms of security. These divisions will complement the actions already implemented in the Rural Crime divisions in Montecarlo, 9 de Julio, Andresito and Leandro N. Alem, showing notable effectiveness in reducing rural crimes, as demonstrated by the drop of up to 80% in the type of robbery and theft of yerba mate in the last semester.

In addition to their police work, these agencies will have police officers trained to act as wildlife guards, supported by the Ministry of Ecology. This multifunctional integration not only reflects greater security coverage, but also a commitment to the preservation of diversity and the environment.
