Poisoning of Mayor Vodanovic’s pets: Carabineros carry out investigations in Valle del Elqui to find those responsible

An unfortunate event was announced yesterday Sunday by the mayor of MaipúTomas Vodanovicwho reported the death of two of his dogs, “Negrita” and “Drako”, after being cruelly poisoned by strangers in the Elqui Valley, Coquimbo Region, where his father resides.

It’s hard for me to understand evil that can lead a person to poison and kill such noble and innocent animals that did no harm to anyone,” lamented the communal chief through his social networks.

Following the incident, Carabineros reported that personnel from the Police Investigation Section (SIP) of the 5th Police Station of Vicuña carried out the first proceedings to clarify what happenedwhich continue to be developed.

And, according to Emol, one of the pets died, but the another affected dog is still missing. “At 5:30 p.m., a man went to the Pisco Elqui Reten, who indicated that yesterday he found inside his home, specifically in the patio, one of his dogs lifeless and with saliva on its muzzle, a condition possibly attributable to to poisoning, while another of his dogs is lost, not knowing the reason for the dog’s death“, indicated Carabineros.

Meanwhile, as reported by the local Prosecutor’s Office of Vicuña, the investigation of the case will be in charge of the Environmental Crimes Brigade (Bidema) of the PDI, who must establish the motivations and responsibilities for what happened.
