The governor of Magdalena Rafael Alejandro Martínez chaired a security council this Tuesday, May 7, in the municipality of Fundación, in which the mayor Luz Helena Andrade Campo also participated, as well as the chief of Police of the Department and the Army.

The encounter occurred as a result of the macabre event that was discovered by residents of this municipality during the afternoon of the previous day, when individuals on a motorcycle threw a Styrofoam cava onto a road, inside which were the limbs of a mutilated man. And in an industrial-type garbage bag, his torso.

The fatal victim of this incident was a man identified as Ever Andrés Castro Contreras, known locally as ‘Sasi’.

At the close of the meeting, Governor Martínez referred to the case as “a disturbing event,” which marks “the maximum degradation of a conflict that exists in the territory.”

“In response to this fact, field work is being done, information is being collected and all entities are focused on being able to respond to the Fundanenses. We need the help of citizens, which is fundamental in this battle against crime, against criminals and organized structures,” added the president.

In that sense, Martínez announced the delivery of a reward of up to 20 million pesos for information on the material and intellectual authors of this crime.

On the other hand, he pointed out that at least 10 uniformed Judicial Police were going to be integrated to investigate cases in an area that he called “the triangle”, corresponding to the municipalities of Aracataca, Fundación and Zona Bananera.

In her speech, Mayor Andrade Campo announced the strengthening of some restrictive measures for motorcyclists and warned that she was not going to “let the violent take over the Foundation.”

In turn, the head of the Police in Magdalena, Colonel Javier Alberto Duarte Reyes, stated that in the territory there are two strong criminal actors such as the Clan del Golfo and the Pachencas, but a group that calls itself ‘was being investigated’. Los Primos’ that would be at the service of one of the two structures in question.

Coincidentally, that group ‘the Cousins’ would have taken responsibility for the macabre murder.

It should be remembered that attached to the Styrofoam cellar in which the severed body was, they left a sign with the message: “This is going to happen to all those who try to sell drugs, collect extortion or any kind of illegal income…”, signed by the group.

The officer confirmed that several hypotheses were being studied regarding this specific case.
