According to a statement from the Southern Community Front, published by Blu Radio, At the meeting they took up “the historical slogan of the front: From resistance… to popular power!” to define three key points.
- Unanimously, the assembly defined “declare the break with the Central Command (COCE) and National Directorate (DN). The above leads to not accepting the treatment of aggression and the current model of leadership from political exile,” the statement says.
- They reaffirm the willingness to continue in the construction of “territorial peace” from Nariño with specific actions such as humanitarian demining.
- Finally, they make it clear that they are going to continue in the “political negotiation process” with the national government, headed by President Gustavo Petro.
The Frente Comuneros del Sur calls on Colombians and especially the community in Nariño in order to be active actors in the peace processes to end the armed conflict.
